Retired United Airlines Flight Attendant

Sino Donato

I became a United Airlines Flight Attendant in 1998 and retired in 2014 when they offered a buy out.  I always had a love of travel and adventure and I really did find the perfect career in the airline industry.  Some of my closest and dearest friends are the flight attendants who I bonded with during our initial classes in Chicago.  The very last day I flew was the day that my daughter, Helena, was born.  She was born prematurely and had a lot of medical needs and our family decided that one of us had to be home to care for her.  I’ve never regretted that, for sure.  At eleven years of age now, she is thriving because of our focused care and early intervention.  I will always be grateful to United Airlines for an outstanding career in aviation.  I still love to travel and, fortunately, retired with my flight benefits!  You may still see me in the airport, not in uniform, and waiting in the standby line for boarding.
